Welcome to UFPC:
The challenge of expanding access to reproductive health (RH) and family planning (FP) in Uganda and around the world requires the collaboration of multiple stakeholders. The push for a coordinated approach towards universal access dates back to the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Egypt and, most recently, reinvigorated at the London 2012 summit.
In Uganda, the six largest civil society organizations providing RH/FP services came together in 2010 to form the Uganda Family Planning Consortium (UFPC) aimed at leveraging synergy to achieve more through collaboration and coordination. This is in support of the Ministry Of Health, which identifies coordination of private sector and civil society actors as a critical lever that can propel increase in access to RH/FP services, information and supplies in ways that optimize resources and promote the use of effective practices.
